Haja Fanta is a curator, writer, and researcher with a diverse and international practice, dividing her time between London, Newark, NJ, and West Africa. She collaborates with artists, organisations, and institutions to deliver visual art exhibitions, projects, and programmes. As the founder of Studio Marrah, a research-driven curatorial studio, Haja delivers cohesive and engaging projects in the arts and culture sphere.

Her research focuses on cultural policy and infrastructure in cities, as well as artistic and cultural production from West Africa and its diaspora. Recently, Haja was awarded the Arts Council DYCP grant, which allowed her to spend three months in Dakar, Senegal, investigating post-independence art and cultural policy. She also participated in the 2023 CPD accredited Young Archivist training programme by the Serendipity Institute.

Haja's previous projects have involved collaborations with notable organisations such as the Southbank Centre, National Portrait Gallery, The Africa Centre (London), and HOME by Ronan Mckenzie. In addition to her curatorial and research work, she has written for publications like BYREDO, NOTION and Texte zur Kunst. She shares her thoughts and insights through her Substack ‘A Loose Thread’.
